In Like A Lion…

It is March 2016 and it came in like a lion… not weather wise (although, there were some serious winds yesterday), but writing wise.  I began to actually think ahead to 2017, January 2017 to be completely honest.

I have taken up the gauntlet and am scheduled to publish 12 books in 2017… One a month.  This means I need to start writing on those 12 books as soon as possible.  Dysfunctional Chronicle novellas do not count, they must have a word count of 50,000 words to qualify, according to my challenger.  (Who is doing it this year and off to a fantastic start)

Some people are worried that it will hurt my sales, that’s a lot of books that I’m expecting people to buy.  Especially since, I currently have 6 Dreams & Reality novels on the list.  Some people think I’m insane, that’s a lot of books to write and I will either crack under the pressure or write drivel.  A very small minority thinks it will help.

One of the wonderful parts of being an indie is the ability to publish as much or as little as often.  It might hurt, it might help.  We will just have to wait and see.  Either way, it was be an interesting and possibly stressful task.  So, as I finish up Terrorific Tales and the two Dysfunctional Chronicles I have planned for this year, I will also be thinking about next year and how much time I realistically need to write each of them (the Dreams books take a little less time, the Death Demon Trilogy will take a little more and I’m still not sure what the other 3 books are going to be!).

  1. Any idea when the next Dreams book will be coming out? I just finished Mutilated Dreams (LOVED IT!!) but like Aislinn Cain it wrapped to quick and easy for me. I am now anxiously waiting for the next one.

    1. Fortified Dreams is finished, it just needs to go to the editor. I have no firm release date at the moment. Terrorific Tales will be coming out first (there are a ton of serial killers in Fortified Dreams and they all needed back stories, I’ve decided to release those first, so the readers will have an idea of who the SCTU and VCU will be dealing with in Fortified Dreams). Both will definitely release this year though.

  2. From what I’ve read and heard in “writing circles” from traditionally published authors…more books means a larger back list which translates to more sales when people discover your books. A challenge is just that. …if the pressure gets to be too much you can always stop. As a reader, I will say that I personally buy what my auto authors publish automatically – even if I don’t have the time to read them as they release.
