Cringe Worthy

I downloaded a book last night, had good reviews. One reviewer went into some serious detail about the main character and plot.

I finish the book and my only thought: What book did that reviewer read?!? They didn’t even have the main character’s name right – it was close, but still wrong. And the plot had nothing to do with the book. According to the reviewer a vampire with a detective agency was trying to find a missing girl. There was a vampire and a missing girl… But the vampire was the bad guy and didn’t own a detective agency or even do any detecting of any kind – except nubile young females to enslave.

I don’t mind bad reviews. I’ve even picked up some books based on bad reviews. That’s how I fell in love with Jack Kilborn’s very gruesome books. But I can’t stand reviews that don’t seem to pertain to the book that’s being reviewed.

It makes me cringe.
