Getting Older Sucks

Coming home from the campground, we had a trailer loaded down with stuff… Mowers and an RTV. The trailer got a flat in BFE with no spare. Luckily, my SO’s parents were following us.

In the pouring rain my SO and my father-in-law took off the tire. The in-laws headed to the nearest town, rim ready to have a new tire put on. However, the storm had knocked out the power. They had to go to a Wal-Mart in Mexico, Missouri… And face a three hour wait.

By then, we’d been on the side of this busy thoroughfare through no-man’s land for 1 and 1/2 hours. By 2 and 1/2 hours, I needed to empty my bladder. But I’m a girl and the only place to squat was next to the truck and trailer where I could be seen by anyone driving past.

Ten years ago, I could have held it all day. Now, I’m just hoping to hold it until we can get the tire changed.
