Flash Fiction

This isn’t what this post was originally about.  My plan was to post about Donnie suffering from heart failure and a long time friend of the family being diagnosed with small cell lung cancer.  However, after pouring my soul into the post, I just couldn’t post it.  I should have, maybe another day (for the record, Donnie is part of my family and I have known Crystal – who has lung cancer – since I was five years old).

Instead, I’ll tell you about the new project I’m working on.  Every week, I find inspiration from something.  Sometimes it is something major (like the traffic accident I saw last night as we ran to Menard’s to get ice melt because we forgot and it was pretty freaking slick… we ended up with almost an inch of the nasty, slick ice and the last count I heard was 100+ accidents as a result).  That inspiration rarely leads to anything.

So, I’ve decided to post a piece of flash fiction once a week, inspired by these little bits of experience.  I haven’t figured out the day yet or the catchy name to give it, but I do have the first 2 pieces written.  Maybe Flash Fiction Fridays?  Or der Märchenerzähler Montags.  I do love German (Storyteller Monday).

  1. We got some of the same stuff but not as bad as you all did. Our roads are in really good shape. Hope it clears up for you soon!
