Rainy Days

Last year, we couldn’t get enough rain.  This year… Well we aren’t having that problem, yet.  It is yet another rainy day.  I took the morning to bind a hard copy of Elysium Dreams for content editing.

Now, I am sitting on my couch, waiting for my best friend to show up to watch the UEFA whatever… Dortmund v. Bayern.  I must admit that I don’t follow league football (soccer, for us Americans).  But I don’t miss many World Cup matches though, so I recognize players here and there and happen to be a big fan of the Germany Team.  So, I can sit through the finals of this league event and cheer on a team based on the players that I know (I believe I know the names of a few Bayern players).

Until her arrival, I am packing for the camp ground.  We have to go get our camper ready to be hauled next week.  That’s the problem with a permanent spot.  It takes a day or two to get ready to take it out on the open road.

We are going to Noel, Missouri.  There isn’t much in Noel, a Tyson Chicken plant, a Mexican Grocery store (that I love!) and the Elk River.  Where we camp, the river is between three and four feet deep.  We pack our old lawn chairs down to the river and sit in it.

Eight days of vacation.  However, it would be impossible for me to spend eight days actually on vacation.  At some point, the laptop will be hauled out and work will be done.  But I’ll have a good time regardless.

I have a goal.  Finish Dark Legacies in July (publish in November).  Finish Mercurial Dreams in September (publish in January 2014).  Start a different, top secret project.  Actually, the top secret project is already started.  It just needs to be… I don’t know what it needs to be… Something needs to be done to it.  I’m sure I’ll add in a novella or two in the process, but that is to be expected of me.

It’s good to have goals and rainy days are good for plotting out goals.  It’s hard to do anything else actually…
