A Writer’s Work Is Never Done

I have a dart tournament to attend today. The edits on The Dysfunctional Honeymoon are done. So, I am giving up part of the tournament day to go get the edits. The cover for Dark Cotillion… the ebook is done. I am waiting on the print cover. I am hopeful I will get that today and upload it to createspace after the tournament.

Tomorrow I have to help with some clearing of dart tournament debris. When I get home, I will need to start implementing the edits. I figured my time up for this week. I have spent nearly 74 hours on work this week counting today. And my week will start over tomorrow, probably early afternoon.

People always ask me why I say you have to have passion to be a writer. This is why… the work is never really done. Yes, I finish novels or novellas, but there is always something else to be done. This week my to-do list includes editing The Dysdunctional Honeymoon, editing Dark Resurrections, talking to the cover artist for The Dysfunctional Honeymoon, starting the next Strachan novel so it can go into the back of Dark Resurrections, writing on Elysium Dreams, finding a title for the next Strachan novel, and all the while a different story idea is wandering around in my head begging to be set free. And I have to do some marketing for Tortured Dreams… I haven’t sold a single copy of it all month.

Of course, I wouldn’t change it for the world.
