The Great Blog Post

Last night, whilst in the shower, I thought of a great blog post for today.  I crafted it and began going over the important bits.  I got out the shower and promptly fell asleep… It was one of those weekends.  An hour later, I was packing my stuff up and moving to the couch.  My snoring, normally loud, was deafening last night, ensuring that Jason didn’t sleep.

However, while I wrote the blog post in my head.  I forgot to put it down anywhere else… and I’m afraid it has been lost… for eternity.  So you will be getting a not as great blog post today about books.

I am a fast reader and always have been.  I can read most books in a couple of hours.  There are exceptions to this, but they are limited to epic novels that may take me as long as a day.  I read the unabridged version of Stephen King’s The Stand in a day and a half, but I was young and it was long.  It is the longest it has ever taken me to read a book (except Anna Karenina…).

In my studio, I try to limit my day’s activities to reading and writing.  However, my neighbor is noisy as all get out, so I also tend to play music or re-runs of British TV shows.  So, I have finished writing Dark Resurrections and have been diligently typing out Elysium Dreams.  But it dawned on me this morning that I need to start the next in the Strachan series so that a preview can be placed inside Dark Resurrections.

However, I don’t really want to devote my day to writing.  I think I am going to read for most of it.  I downloaded several books last week and began them, but I haven’t finished them.  That is my plan.  To finish a book today that isn’t one of mine.  I will be working on revisions very soon, so I might as well enjoy a different book before I start the rewrites.
