The Realization that NONE of my Characters Cook

I gave an interview for the book tour that posted today.  One of the questions was:

How alike are you and Nadine?

“Our biggest shared trait is our dislike of cooking, but I also tend to be forgetful (like her).”

As Tortured Dreams is preparing to print and Dark Resurrections is in progress, I came to the realization that none of my main female characters cook.

This is odd.  I actually love to cook, for me.  I just don’t like to cook for others.  Somehow this has created a string of female characters that hate cooking.  And for the life of me, I can’t figure out why.  I have male characters who cook.  Male characters that are chefs or just love to be in the kitchen.  I have female characters that are the same way.  Just none of them are main characters…

It is something to be investigated and explored.  Are the lives of my main characters just so busy that cooking never makes it onto their daily “to-do” list?  Or is there something else at work…

Oh and for the interview visit Andi’s Book Reviews
